SW Day 10 – Still going round and round!!

Today's Circuit Race course. 2.1 miles. Counterclockwise. Rolling. Short steep climb then false flat to finish.

I can tell when I'm just riding round and round - ie not attacking and racing - when my peak 5 minute power is in the first five minutes of a race.

Nice German restaurant in Kenosha for dinner. Trivia of the day, Gerhardt was the name of the inventor of the Powertap, around 1998.

German starters. Pate, Garlic toast, break, Sauerkraut salad!French Onion soup. Tribute to the Tour de France, I guess?

Main Course. German Platter. Rouladen, Ham, Knockwurst on kraut, side of Spaetzel

Hillary got a nice pic of Ara and I before a race last week. Why does Ara's team skinsuit make me look fat!?!?

Back into the game today. Not sure what to expect after yesterday’s day of rest.  My motivation is low and my desire to suffer is even lower, so I sat on the back and simply went round and round.  Not a great course for me, kinda hilly, but still I generally will take a dig or two.  On the plus side, my congestion is quite a bit less, and I’m not coughing, so whatever I had is passing.  Ara, unfortunately is getting worse so will not be racing for a few more days.

I’m getting kinda bored on the road.  Really, really looking forward to the Turk getting here in 2 days so we can go to the beach and a movie and hang out.

I scouted out Day 11 course (in South Milwaukee) on my way home.  Pretty cool figure of 8 with some descending and climbing, some park road and some city center road.  My plan is to be much more active, try to get into a break.  It may rain which I would welcome, that always raises the stakes a little.

C ya.

Okay…. Turk, you’ll have to eat some of that food for me. I guess it’s only fair that Jim gets all the good food while he is out there racing hard…. and I’m sitting around putting on the pounds since after the Elite.

Jim, I keep thinking about that lovely lamb shank meal with the starter of oysters on the half shell. Yummm! I need to ride more.
